MISSISSIPPI 1966 INAUGURAL ISSUE PRODUCT LIST FOR RETAILERS
In 1966, upon prohibition’s repeal and the end of the notorious bootlegger’s era of the Gold Coast, C. “Kats” Katsaboulas established Kats Wine & Spirits as Mississippi’s first legal wine and spirits shop. The original location was on Capitol Street next to the famous Mayflower Cafe in Jackson. In the early 70s, Kats moved a short distance to Fortification Street, across from the historic Jitney 14 (now Froogel’s) in the Greater Belhaven neighborhood, where it remains today.
Kats’s sons continue the tradition by providing unmatched services and Mississippi’s most value-packed inventory. The reviews posted on nearly all of the store’s hard-to-find, special-order, and critically acclaimed wines display the highest concentration of 90+ point wines for under $20 in the State. This renowned inventory has made Kats Wine & Spirits Mississippi’s destination wine and spirits store for NEARLY 55 YEARS! Our slogan, “Vintage Character Since 1966”, is as applicable to our interesting and diverse customers as it is to our carefully selected collections of each vintages’ best wines.
